About

Uncover the brilliant cultural heritage that Paris is known for during this three-week August short-term program. Choose to learn more about art and architecture of the 19th century, focus on modern art expressions in the forms of music and dance, or take the time to improve your language skills. Each course incorporates field trips and guest speaker introductions during these highly interactive and discussion-based classes.

Consider bundling this program with a fall semester with APA in Paris or Multi-Country: France, Morocco, Senegal. Discounts will automatically be applied!

Academics
Students follow one course from the following:

  • Intermediate French Language: need an extra language boost before the fall semester? This class sets the foundation for a successful term abroad.

  • Power, Beauty and Revolution: 19th Century Art and Architecture in the Paris Metropole: examine the relationship between art, politics, and society of the 19th century.

  • Urban Identities, Popular Culture and French Multiculturalism: how has hip hop been used to express the feelings and give a voice to an increasingly multicultural France?

All courses are four credit hours each and taught in French (B1 language level and up / A2 language level for the French course). Academic support and 1:1 language support sessions are available.

Housing
A five-minute walk from the APA center, stay in a student residence in the 14th arrondissement. All accommodations are single-occupancy furnished bedrooms with a private bathroom. Daily breakfast and five dinners per week are included.

Culture
An array of cultural activities and events are included in the program. From taking a bateau mouche boat cruise on the Seine River to an excursion to the Versailles palace, the rich heritage of Paris is showcased each week!
