About
Over six weeks of summer study, dive into the histories of North Africa and France: these two areas, despite their distance, are woven together over centuries of colonialism and migration. In the host city of Rabat, Morocco, sharpen your French language skills and learn about topics such as the effects of colonialism in Morocco, the rising economic influence of North Africa on the global stage, or the impact of the French language on the literature landscape of the Maghreb.
Students choose two courses from the following. All courses are taught in French and are four credits each.
- Colonialism and Postcolonialism in Morocco: Issues and Debates
- Economics of Development in North Africa
- Francophone Literature in the Maghreb
- Gender, Sexuality and Feminism in North Africa
- Migration in the Mediterranean
Homestay housing along with cultural events and site visits are included.
Two-week extension: Stay in Rabat at the conclusion of studies and volunteer with a local NGO for two weeks.
