AIFS: Paris - Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne

Spend a semester, January term, Summer session or academic year with AIFS in the incomparable city of Paris, France, studying at the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS), part of the University of Paris. Homestay accommodation is included in the program fee. Depending on the term selected, additional options such as an apartment or student residence may be available for an additional fee. You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as guided city walks, visits to the many museums and cultural sites of Paris, French cooking classes, opera and ballet performances, and day trip to the famous Château de Versailles. Excursions vary by program and term but typically include great options like a 2-day trip to Normandy and Brittany, a 2-day trip to the Loire Valley and more.

Students studying abroad in the fall or spring are offered an optional early start program, Intensive French Language, in Cannes. Students earn 2-credits while acclimating to France in this sunny Mediterranean city, and all levels of French are available from beginner through superior. Once in Paris, all students have an orientation workshop. AIFS students also have the ability to take music courses through the Schola Cantorum. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Paris is one of the world’s great capitals of culture. Known throughout the world for its museums and historical monuments, the city itself is laid back and easy to get around. The top restaurants and the greatest names in fashion sit next to vintage stores and take-away crêpes stalls. As our Resident Director always says, “Paris... it’s your campus!”
