Overall Experience
From my experience, I gained an opportunity to understand and appreciate the privilege life that I have. Having the opportunity to go to another country and explore it is not something that everyone can do. I not only learned a lot academically but also a lot socially and culturally as well. - American University View Entire Review
It was DEFINITELY worthwhile. I learned so much about myself through the inherent challenges of living in a new country, especially one like India. Pushing your boundaries and going outside your comfort zone is the most rewarding gift you can give yourself. - University of South Carolina - Columbia View Entire Review
Learned the thought patterns of people who live in a collectivist society. Yes. - University of Alabama - Birmingham View Entire Review
This experience helped be decide that India is truly the place for me and that I should do as much as I can to go abroad as often as I can. - American University View Entire Review
It was incredibly worthwhile. I learned so much about India and public health in the developing world and the reality of living in tight circumstances. I also learned a lot about myself - how I deal with different situations and learning that you can get used to the situation you are put in. This experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about myself as well as what another culture is like. I learned that there are certain things in my life that were important that are just not as important anymore. - Wartburg College View Entire Review
I learned you make your own experience. You should do what you want to do, and be friends with people who are similar-minded and mature enough to take new challenges with you. Studying abroad is a worthwhile opportunity so make sure you have a positive, open mind to take on new challenges/opportunities. - Siena College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about public health, especially in the global context. This program was the start of my international global health interest and it only further inspired me to continue. - University of Massachusetts Amherst / UMass View Entire Review
I learned, obviously, a lot about India, but also a lot of things about myself. Being in such a novel situation, forces some introspection about who you are on you. Your opinions and customs are in question all the time, and often you have to explain what it's like as an American. I gained a deep sense of acceptance and toleranc... - Elon University View Entire Review
It was a very worthwhile program as I gained a huge insight into Indian culture in addition to their healthcare systems. - Case Western Reserve University View Entire Review
I learned about a completely different perspective on healthcare, and a completely different culture from my own. This experience was at times exhausting but absolutely worthwhile. - Case Western Reserve University View Entire Review

I learned to be a healthier person, not get so concerned with things that wont matter in the end (cause I miss out on opportunities), live to LIVE not merely Do to live, take more chances, just have fun! This program was so worthwhile for those who make it what they want to make out of it. I got to do almost everything I wanted ... - Providence College View Entire Review
