I learned a lot about how important historical cultural practices can have on an ecosystem. How different ecosystems require different management programs. I learned that I am capable of a lot if I put my mind to it! It was absolutely worthwhile. - Nevada State College View Entire Review
I gained an immense amount of knowledge for how the rest of the world works in comparison to the states, which I found it is actually really important. I also gained a lot more personal attributes - better communication skills, people skills, less anxiety about what the future holds, etc. - Texas Lutheran University View Entire Review
I learned so much from my time abroad. I learned about myself and I learned how much I really love Ireland. It was definitely worth every penny. - Worcester State University View Entire Review

I learned so much about who I am as a person. It sounds like what everyone else says, but I'm serious. Invest in yourself. Take a risk. There is no greater feeling than being somewhere completely alone and exposed, and leaving with the best friends and memories. - Springfield College View Entire Review
I can honestly say (though it may sound cliche, that it was the best experience of a lifetime--the best I have had so far). I surprised myself with my ability to be incredibly independent and broadened my horizons as far as forcing myself to go outside my comfort zone, physically, mentally, socially, the list could go on! - University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse View Entire Review
I learned more about the person I want to be. I got to experience other cultures and see the differences between my culture and theirs. I learned to be a more easy going person and open with others. - Western Washington University View Entire Review

My experience was definitely worthwhile. After studying in Ireland, I know I want to live overseas again. This time I'm thinking Scotland or Australia. Studying abroad really opens your eyes to larger world and inspires you with a desire to want to see that world. I am also no longer scared to try new things. While in Ireland, I learned a lot about myself. While the majority for the experience was extremely negative for me, I did learn some major life lessons along the way. Personally I do not think study abroad was worthwhile and if I had to do it again I would choose to stay at my home university. - Nichols College View Entire Review

I gained alot of friends abroad, and it's impacted me by giving me independence. I used to worry about my family too much to be away from them for very long, but now I know I can live anywhere and be okay without them around all the time. I could easily go back and live in Ireland. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

About

Galway is a charming coastal city on the west coast of Ireland. County Galway is Ireland’s largest Gaelic-speaking area in the country, and even today the mother tongue of much of the population is the native Irish language. The countryside surrounding Galway seems not to have changed in 150 years. Fields that were abandoned during the potato famine of the mid-1800s still lie untouched, and one sees the low stone walls and rolling hillsides that characterize Ireland. In the midst of the history and tradition of the countryside lies the bustling city of Galway. Students find plenty of diversion in the city labeled the “Cultural Capital of Ireland.” Students can choose to attend a play at one of three world-renowned theaters or visit the 13th century Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas, where Christopher Columbus is said to have prayed before undertaking his journey to the New World.
