There a lot of amazing courses and the professor are very good. I definitely learnt a lot of math, but I also learnt how to live by myself and manage my own apartment. Divij G - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I gained new insights into the depth/breadth of the math world and how I may fit into it. I also gained a lot of independence while abroad, as it was my first time living in my own apartment. While the experience had its ups and downs, it was incredibly worthwhile! I gained a lot of new friends and learned a lot of new math that... A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

This program was very worthwhile to me. I learned to be more independent, to cook, to better balance work and fun; I was surrounded by people who taught me everything from math to cooking. Meera Hejmadi - Wellesley College View Entire Review

Apart from just the new math knowledge, I got to travel and experience many new cultures and languages and "broaden my horizons," to be cliche. I am so glad I went; it was definitely worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

As wonderful and fulfilling as the mathematical side of BSM is, the program is much more than just math. Hungarian, and European culture, in general, are very different from that of America. I had never been to Europe, and consequently had lots of idiosyncrasies to adjust to, like paying for bags at the grocery store, taking pu... Parker Evans - Tulane University View Entire Review

About
Budapest Semesters in Mathematics (BSM) is an academic program held in Budapest, Hungary for American and Canadian undergraduates. BSM has come to be viewed as one of the most prestigious and essential study-abroad programs for undergraduate students of Mathematics. Spend part of your junior or senior year in Budapest. Learn mathematics from leading Hungarian scholars in English. Hungary has a long tradition of excellence in mathematics education. However, because of the language barrier, students have not been able to take advantage of the skill and dedication of the mathematics faculties of Hungarian universities. Initiated by Paul Erdős, László Lovasz, and Vera T. Sós, the program Budapest Semesters in Mathematics provides a unique opportunity for North American undergraduates. Through this program, mathematics and computer science majors in their junior/senior years may spend fall, spring or summer semester in Budapest and study under the tutelage of eminent Hungarian scholar-teachers. The instructors of Budapest Semesters in Mathematics are members of Eötvös University, the Mathematical Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the three institutions known for having educated more than half of Hungary's highly acclaimed mathematicians. Most instructors have had teaching experience in North America and are familiar with the cultural differences. All courses are taught in English. Classes are small. Credits are transferable to North American colleges and universities. The school is near the center of historic Budapest. Living costs are modest. An optional intensive language course is offered about two weeks before regular semester classes begin (not available for the summer semester).
