This internship will involve tasks around different laboratory molecular biology techniques such as: DNA extraction from different tissues, purification of DNA, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR analysis, Sanger sequencing methodology, Next Generation Sequencing methodologies. Interns will work between the Laboratories of Agrobiotechnology and Food Genetic Analysis of the International Hellenic University. Most of the activities are focused on laboratory work but may include office-based tasks too. Typical tasks are: preparation of buffers for DNA extraction, preparation of agarose gels, preparation of buffers for agarose gel electrophoresis, training in the PCR reaction and in the Sanger sequencing analysis, processing of DNA sequences, learning of software use, familiarization with the Next Generation techniques.
