I think I became so much more fluent when I went to Italy. I was able to speak to many Italian people about their worldly views and personal thoughts. I think this helped me broaden my horizon in life. Stephanie A - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned that I needed to step out of my comfort zone aka Wellesley to understand the parts of Wellelsey I appreciate and miss, and acknowledge that my culture is not the one right way. I also appreciated the opportunity to travel and discover new countries as I had not done much travel outside of the United States. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I got to visit all sorts of incredible places in Italy and Europe, and my Italian skills definitely improved. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I never thought I could feel so comfortable living in a foreign country, but Italy was amazing and I had so much fun! My Italian is a lot better and I learned a lot from my classes and the trips we took with the program. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned that what I contribute is more social and comedic rather than intellectual and I am totally fine with that. So worthwhile and so much fun. I learned I dont want to live too far from my family, however. I also am now encouraged to learn more languages. Isabel M - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I became more independent and I broadened my perspectives. I put myself out there to make new friends in a different language and with people from other countries, and I learned more about the language and culture. It was all very worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how to converse freely with people from all different backgrounds, even as someone who has never been particularly extroverted. Nearly every day in Bologna was a new opportunity to meet new people, hear new perspectives, and explore new places and activities, all while enjoying an immensely student-friendly city. I lea... I gained so much more Italian knowledge than I ever expected to learn. I am really exceptionally bad at learning languages but being immersed in it really did help! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I made a lot of friends through the ECCO program that I will stay in touch with for a long time, as well as Italian friends that I am still in touch with. My ability to speak and write the language also improved immensely. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My time abroad was definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about the culture I was in, about myself, and about the language. I gained new, wonderful relationships and an experience that is very different from what my life is like at Wellesley (which was nice). A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My Italian improved so much, and I made some good friends. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I gained a lot of life experience. You have to build a whole new network and advocate for yourself in a foreign language to people who may, or may not like you. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned a lot of Italian and took classes that were interesting. I cooked for myself a lot and it does feel more independent than a traditional American college experience. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
While I didn’t find the program overly challenging, it was most definitely immersive and hugely helpful in improving language skills. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Independence! I thought I was pretty independent going into the experience, but coming out of it I feel 10x as independent. I traveled all over Italy and Europe and made friends and took classes in a different language. It was by far my best choice in life so far to go abroad!!
