About

Engineers Without Borders - USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students. In the Bolivian community, Tacaraul Del Matto, the group is working on potable water availability. The project team, lead by Santiago Trujillo, is working to design a pump and well head for installation of the well. Currently, EWB-UNM is in close communication with a local driller in the region. The community set up an email address for EWB-UNM and other organizations to communicate with them. This email is being tested. Local partners in the area are the Tsimane Health and Life History Project (THLHP) based at UNM, and the Gran Consejo (Local government) of the Tsimane people. This project aims to be implementated over the next few years beginning with the first well being installed. Please contact Annette Mares-Duran at amares2@unm.edu for more information.
