About

He who cannot be a good follower cannot be a good leader Aristotle

IPSL's "About Limits: Mediterranean Outdoor Exploration and Leadership" program prepares participants with the academic background skills and necessary experiences to analyze, plan, implement, lead and supervise teams, not only in an outdoor environment but also in academia or a corporate setting, through experiential and physical challenges. Designed to help students develop conditional leadership skills, understand group development and communication, and empower facilitation techniques in an outdoor environment. In addition, the course provides opportunities to sharpen the creative decision-making process and meet challenges for problem solving and sound judgment, all in the wild Greek mountains. The program emphasizes the environmental ethics and "Leave No Trace" approach. Analyze the main domains of a risk management plan through outdoor activities and discuss how this knowledge could be transferred in a business or corporate environment. Finally, the course uses team bonding activities and tries to teach and enhance decision making skills through games in the outdoors. The Greek mountains offer an incredibly rich and diverse natural environment with physical challenges, breathtaking scenery accompanied with endless chats over delicious meals by the fire.

Thessaloniki is a made-for walking city. Head down to the sea, stroll through the narrow streets of the city center, and explore options for culture, entertainment and food. The White Tower is undoubtedly the city’s most famous landmark and the stretch of waterfront that connects the White Tower with the warehouse district is always busy. On a clear day, enjoy the great views of Mt. Olympus and the glorious crimson sunsets. Apart from being a modern and interesting city, Thessaloniki has nature at its fingertips: long sandy beaches on the eastern peninsula of Halkidiki, beautiful rugged mountainous regions, and lakes for a multitude of adventure activities.

Greece is full of areas of great ecological value and physical beauty. This relatively small geographic location offers a remarkable variety of eco-sites and geographic formation, worthy of the most adventurous of travelers. There are massive rock formations, large mountain ranges, 8077 miles of coastline, deep gorges, meandering rivers and a variety of climates.

Nature lovers have ample opportunity to explore and taste nature, including deep forests and national parks offering numerous exploration possibilities.
