I would definitely recommend this program. I had an incredible experience combining Study Abroad with Service Learning in El Hospital del Nino while staying with a Peruvian host family. My language skills improved immensely, I gained an appreciation for the Peruvian culture, and met wonderful people from around the world. - Michigan Technological University View Entire Review
To some up what I learned in a couple sentence would be impossible. I learned so much about Peruvian culture, the governmental systems, about the people, and some of the realities of developing nations. I have studied abroad in three countries now and this program was my personal favorite. You have the unique chance to experience life in two other countries instead of one, and they contrast each other in the perfect way. If not this program, study abroad in another. Absolutely, and for going the first time, I would recommend using a program, but next time, I would go on my own because I know more now and the activities and support among other things would not be as worth the money for me. - Kansas State University View Entire Review

I would have done the year program again but would have taken both semesters in spanish, or had half spanish and half english classes each semester. The cliche is you regret what you don't do..I would have taken more risks, seen more things, gotten out of the house more, taken more difficult courses... - University of Tennessee - Knoxville View Entire Review
Worth every dollar. I now have international contacts and am launching an international business with the experience and contacts I made. - Graceland University View Entire Review
I am more appreciative of other culture and ways of life. Americans tend to feel like the world revolves around us and our beliefs. Going to Peru made me realize that different isn't necessarily bad. And at the end of the day, our differences are what make us unique and give us an amazing story to share. Because of the opportuni... - Pace University View Entire Review

I have gained so much from my internship abroad. One of my main goals of going abroad was to see how various countries and cultures are intertwined with one another. 110% worth my while. I use a completely different lens to view the world. I appreciate culture, nature, people, and uncomfortability on a completely different level. I gained the knowledge that there are misconceptions about going to another country to live. People must be open-minded about traveling to new places and embrace other cultures. I think this experience just made me aware of so many things, like that the way we live in the USA is not the only way people live. About

Lima, the capital of Peru, is situated on the west coast of the southern Pacific Ocean, along the outlet of the Rímac River. Lima is full of fascinating contrasts between traditional and modern influences. The traditional influences evolved from Peru's history as the home of the Inca and numerous other civilized cultures, dating back as far as 2000 BC. Indigenous cultural traditions and languages still thrive today in Peru.

However, Lima is not only a traditional place, but has moved with the pace of modernity and now boasts strong industries and contemporary technologies in Latin America. Lima is known for its interesting museums, colonial churches, vibrant cafe scene, striking architecture and genuinely friendly people. In addition, it is the hub of transport to Peru's endless natural treasures and archeological gems. South of the Capital, long white beaches stretch along the Pacific Ocean and are backed by white sand dunes.

Lima's importance as the capital city of Peru and its idyllic location along the southern Pacific coast, provide an exceptional study abroad site for students to improve their Spanish language and learn about Peruvian culture. Choose from three incredible universities, with a multitude of course offerings in Spanish and English. Go to school with other Spanish speaking international students or take classes with local Peruvians.
