Overall Experience
I learned how important it is for me to be surrounded by people I care about. I also learned that I can manage without these people. I got better at German, and I got experience interning at a smallish international company, which was invaluable. Overall it was worthwhile, and I'm glad I had those experiences. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg: Wurzburg - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
Studying abroad was the most difficult thing I have ever done but I am so happy I did it. I learned how to navigate through unfamiliar areas without technology. I learned more about other cultures. It was worthwhile because I needed to Study Abroad in order to graduate, but I would rather have gone during a summer semester so that I did not waste so much of my time. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

I gained a second language, friendships that will last a lifetime, I know now that I can depend on myself, and I have a new sense of compassion for foreigners in America. 100 percent it was worthwhile. - Eastern Illinois University View Entire Review
I gain self-awareness and confidence. I wasn't comfortable at first, but I got out of my little bubble a bit late, but I believe it changed me for the better. I made better decisions, became more independent, and gained a lot of knowledge on the way. - Eastern Illinois University View Entire Review
Honestly it comes down to being reliant on yourself and confident enough to just throw yourself out there and not be afraid of making mistakes. It sounds easy, but at the end of the day it's much harder than you think. It was the best year of my life and I've already booked a flight to go back during break - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
My first class had kids whose first language was Slovenian, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Farsi, Polish, Dutch, Greek, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. I literally couldn't communicate with anyone at my table unless it was in German. You have no safety blanket, no one explaining a concept in your first language, no one givin... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
