About
The Theatre Arts Program offers a combination of courses that focus on acting styles in the European context, and the more conceptual deconstructionist post-modern European design styles. This program is operated in association with the Moscow Art Theatre School (MXAT), and is open to all theatre majors and minors. Taught by European theatre experts and LMU faculty in the LMU tradition, students will benefit from a conservatory style course format, which includes in-depth theoretical and intense practical approaches to Stanislavski acting methods and Brechtian Epic Theatre techniques. LMU Theatre Arts students begin their studies in Bonn at the Akadernie fur lnternationale Bildung and then travel to Russia to study with the master acting teachers at the acclaimed Moscow Art Theatre. Students then return to Germany to begin rehearsals for a full production staged at a professional theatre in Bonn. Students may earn 15-18 units of course work, or 24 units with a 3.5 GPA or higher, and will participate in a Russian and German language and culture class, which will help them gain an understanding of these diverse societies
