I improved my understanding of art, and I learned how to make books and metal jewelry. I got really comfortable traveling alone in a foreign country. I experienced a lot of aspects of Italian culture. I also gained a lot of social confidence from learning to overcome the language barrier. These are all major benefits, however, I... I definitely became more independent. It was worthwhile because I was able to meet new friends outside of Wellesley and travel a lot. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I improved my Italian. I was able to meet Americans from around the country AND local Italians. A student - Mount Holyoke College View Entire Review
I learned that I can travel alone. That being in a space where I do not know the language is difficult and beautiful at the same time. That friends can be found in wonderful spaces. Money is well spent on a good time and that being away from Wellesley was exactly what I needed in order to make it through. It was completely worth... I learned mostly about sustainability and food history in Italy and Europe. Half of the information I was already familiar with. A student - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review

"My three-week experience proved I had unlimited capabilities: communicating in LIS with the Italian Deaf community, negotiating English and Italian with my host family, and a yearning to learn more about the global Deaf-World. Every Deaf-World has different histories with different events, but the results of these reflected ma... Scottie A - Gallaudet University View Entire Review
This study abroad was worthy for me and my life in so many levels. Not only I gain a new family in another country, but I also learn in a short period of time a new language a new culture that I feel like I am part of it. I love Italy and I will go back in a heart bit, I also love that this experience made me think of all the wo... Ana G - Kennesaw State University View Entire Review

I gained a whole new outlook on life. I learned to hold onto small moments and go on more adventures and discover new things . I also found a new passion for the italian culture and language and do not want to stop and want to go back. I also gained the travel bug and now want to go to other areas in the world and help out and e... A student - Northern Arizona University View Entire Review
if I were studying art, Siena School could've been a good option, but for sustainability it was a sham. I learned to trust myself more and not take anyone too seriously. Essentially, I learned to be more self-reliant and independent. A student - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I learned a language and how the world outside the states functions. I'm grateful for getting the chance to leave the country however I believe the clark students laid far too much for what the program specifically had to offer us. Kerry B - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review

The Siena program was a once and a lifetime experience. I learned more in the few weeks that I was there than I did in the several semesters of Italian language/culture courses that I took at my home university. I can't wait to go back someday. Well, number one, I've learned how to appreciate food more. It has influenced how I cook my food and how I shop. I don't eat much processed food now. Number two, I see how Italians really appreciate their families so that helped me to reflect on my interaction with my family and focused on my family values. I study sign language...
