About
Students may take courses in any of the departments of the University of the West Indies of which they are permitted. Primarily, students will locate at the Mona campus in Jamaica, but UWI also has campuses at Cave Hill in Barbados and St. Augustine in Trinidad.
There are two types of program: a student exchange and a study abroad program. The student exchange is limited to Geneseo students only; the study abroad program is open to any non-Geneseo student, both within SUNY and from beyond. Program costs differ between the exchange and study abroad programs; please visit the 'program costs' link to review the costs in more detail.
Learning in the West Indies is highly prized, and educational standards are high. The University of the West Indies is a university serving 15 countries, former colonies of Great Britain. The UWI is committed to the development of the region through training of its human resources, conducting research, delivering advisory services to governments as well as to the private sector and forging links with other institutions in the wider region and the rest of the world.
