About
The University of Oviedo, a 400+ year old university in the Asturias region of Spain, has proudly offered courses in Spanish language and culture for more than 20 years. Students will participate in the "cursos de espanol para extranjeros" at the university. The Spanish language teachers are widely experienced lecturers in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. Classes will be conducted at the "El Milan" campus of the university.
Before the course starts, students are required to sit a placement test in order to identify their corresponding group and level. Courses are taught at three different language levels: elementary (A1), intermediate (B1-B2) and advanced (C1-C2). According to the number of students and their knowledge, these levels may be further split into smaller groups. At each language level the following areas are studied: Grammar in the communicative context, vocabulary, written expression and comprehension, and oral expression and comprehension. A textbook and additional materials (adapted to each level) will be provided on the first day of class. Audiovisual materials and activities are also included. Classes take place Monday through Friday in the mornings from 9.30 to 2.00 p.m with a coffee break from 11.30 to 12.00.
