New Zealand is a multi-cultural country situated in the Pacific Ocean on the southern edge of the Asia-Pacific rim. It is made up of two major islands and a number of unpopulated smaller ones. Its population is at about 3.5 million, and includes people of Maori, Asian, and European ancestry. New Zealand's dramatic and varied landscapes draw visitors from all over the world.
