I enjoyed my semester abroad at HKU. Taking courses in a different country brought me new perspectives. student31 - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I guess I just grew up a bit as one does with studying abroad. Felicity Johnson - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Gained a better sense of my identity as a diaspora Chinese, met other diaspora Chinese. Was able to retrace my family roots through travel during breaks. Also gained a broader perspective of global issues, since my previous perspectives always were adjacent to whatever was happening in the United States. I learned so much about HK's identity, history, & politics (esp. pertinent today). I also got to travel & experience East Asia, which was absolutely fantastic - it gave me a far richer understanding for Asian affairs & cultures. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My study abroad was about self-discovery and cultural exposure. Though I was very disappointed by the academics at HKU, I knew going in that it would be very different from my liberal arts education. At a certain point, I decided that academics would not be the focus of my study abroad and instead concentrated on meeting people ... nari.savanorkejoyce - Wellesley College View Entire Review

It was a very tough program, but it was completely worthwhile. Take 3 or 4 classes if your home university will let you. I learned about so many different cultures, and got a better idea of what kind of work I'd like to do in the future (something international) Marc S - Bentley University View Entire Review
I learned that an experience is what you make it. You have to be willing to put yourself out there to be accepted or rejected. And it was A student - Bentley University View Entire Review

Everything was worthwhile! I definitely learned how to be more flexible with my studies, and i met so many different people! Usually, I met with friends that tend to be either co-workers or classmates. However, studying abroad, I met a HUGE variety of people of different backgrounds and of different majors. I now know what living in Hong Kong can be like. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I failed one class, but it was a great time off from being at Wellesley. I realized failing classes aren't so bad. And taking time off is very healthy. Being with family for so long made me much closer to them. I loved my time outside of school there. Earning credits was just a bonus. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Studying abroad is absolutely worthwhile. Even if everything doesn't go your way, you leave with a better understanding of yourself and the world. A student - University of California - Los Angeles / UCLA View Entire Review

I gained a wider perspective on the world and also learned a lot more about myself. The course of events certainly did not turn out the way I had expected them to, but the experience was invaluable. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I learnt how to get in touch with a new and different culture from mine, how to interact with people I otherwise would have never met in my whole life and get out of my comfort zone to try new exciting experiences. ludovica.pagni.7 - Barnard College View Entire Review
