Totally worthwhile! I learned how Italian culture works and how they do business. Italians live much differently than I do in the United States so it was interesting to see a much different culture. Brandon Tenge - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review
I learned so many new things while on this trip. We had a lot of experiences that we could never have at home, like hiking an active volcano and watching it erupt while standing at the top. The time abroad was completely beyond worthwhile. A student - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review
I felt immersed in the culture daily. There was plenty of free time for us to independently (with small groups) roam the cities or surrounding areas and see what it is like to be there on your own. I learned a lot from the teaching but almost equally from my own experiences chatting with locals and seeing nightlife in the differ... A student - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review

I have learned so much through studying abroad. You not only learn about another culture and the values, morals, and history they have but you also learn more about your own culture. There are things that you do not recognize or appreciate about the country you live in until you have exposure to another country. You learn to be ... That there is more to life than just staying in Iowa/America. I thought it was very worthwhile, I've only been outside Iowa 12 times and never saw the ocean ever. So this was quite the experience to go across the ocean to see it for the first time. A student - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review
I learned so much about myself, life, and priorities. It was an eye-opening experience. I feel a definite sense of accomplishment over the feats I achieved on the trip. It also ignited a curiosity in the culture that I will have forever. A student - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review
There is so much more than small-town Iowa. The only time I'd been out of the country was for an afternoon picnic in Canada when I was 9. The world has so much history and cultures and experiences to offer that it's a sin to not take advantage of it all! A student - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review
It was totally worthwhile. I gained so much insight on how much cultures have changes through the years. The beauty of all the buildings in Rome took my breath away. Learning all there is to know about those buildings and then seeing them still standing today is amazing. It is a whole other world. Jacque P - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review

Very worthwhile. I learned so much about ancient cultures and even new ones and how they evolved over time. I also learned about the environment and how societies can factor into the destruction of natural resources. Another thing I had the opportunity to do was go on an archeological dig, which summed up all of my knowledge I l... A student - University of Northern Iowa View Entire Review
