It was definitely worthwhile given the fact that I was able to learn so much about India as well as my personal connection to the country. I was able to travel a lot and learn so much about the different cultures within India as well. However, in terms of the program itself, it was very difficult to be so independent and not hav... - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I honestly can't even sum up what I learned while abroad because I gained so much from the experience. Simply being thrown into a completely different culture, where everything is basically exactly the opposite of where I live in America, was priceless. I gained self motivation, confidence, a ton of new friends, some new languag... - University of Maine at Orono View Entire Review

I have developed a much deeper appreciation of the small things in life. I thought I had that before I went, but experiencing life outside our norm enables a degree of reflection and change that just can't always happen on our day to day lives. - Boise State University View Entire Review
I learned more about myself and gained confidence in myself. I was put in crazy different environments that I had to adapt to on a whim. I never knew I was capable of so much! - Goucher College View Entire Review

India is the perfect location for someone wanting to go somewhere off the beaten path. It is so rich in culture--all kinds of languages, incredible traditions of music and dance, the birthplace of several religions...and on and on and on. USAC was a great introduction to an amazing country, and I definitely want to go back! - University of Tulsa View Entire Review

About

Among the vibrant colors, unique smells, loud sounds, and busy streets of Bengaluru is a simple and spiritual lifestyle. If you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, you’ll find a deep, enriching experience both culturally and academically. Day-to-day you’ll observe co-existing religions, learn about global issues, and see firsthand the transformation of traditional Indian society into a fast-paced hybrid of East-West life. You’ll be integrated into the university atmosphere, including sports and theater, and can participate in the buddy program to make local friends. With an open-mind and adventurous heart you’ll find no end of things to do here, from Henna parties to Bollywood dance classes, temples to mosques, historic sites to modern businesses, and cooking workshops to yoga studies—there’s a lot to explore.
