About

This course provides an experience in global community health care in the Amazon region of Peru. Students will apply assessment skills in planning and implementing health care to individuals and communities.

The program will provide an excellent opportunity to analyze the cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors that can influence health care.

Field trips will include an excursion on the Amazon River and  overnight in the jungle, a visit to the Sacred Valley of the Inca, and the Machu Picchu ruins nestled on the eastern slopes of the Vilcanota mountain range.

May 13- June 2, 2017 (Note: This program starts and ends in Lima. Participants will depart the U.S. on May 13 and arrive in Lima that evening. Participants depart from Lima on June 1 and will arrive in the U.S. on June 2)
