About

Washington State University’s Department of Human Development and the Institute for American Universities (IAU) are pleased to introduce an intensive summer study abroad program in Barcelona, Spain. Students can earn WSU academic credits and gain incredible study abroad experience in Barcelona, Spain through both in-class lectures and internships related family diversity in Spain. Lectures are taught in English (by WSU professors), and other experiential learning opportunities such as day trips, and other cultural activities allow students to explore and understand the city’s history and culture as it relates to the course topic and human services, more broadly. Additionally, by living with Spanish families, students have the unique opportunity to learn about life in Spain from the perspective of those who know it best and they will also be able to acquire or deepen Spanish language skills.
