I absolutely loved the program and the country. I was origionally enrolled in one semester abroad, but after my first semester, I enrolled for a second.

The grading system is different and proves as a challenge for many American students to grow accustomed to. In the US the grading starts at 100 and they mark you down for things you do poorly. At UCT they start with 0 and mark you up for things you do well, therefore your ending marks do not end as high. |

The University of Cape Town and South Africa made studying abroad a very fun experience. As a nonprofit leadership major the country was a great place to be to experience the challenges and opportunities surrounding international nonprofits. |

A Look Back
| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | If you are a student looking to learn from nonprofits and social development experiences South Africa is the place to be. As a developing nation living in both a first and third world setting I learned so much about the international context of human suffering and joy. |
